Dr. Bin Xiao (肖斌) is a Fellow of the IEEE and a Professor who also serves as the Associate Head of the Department of Computing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Concurrently, he is the Associate Director of the PolyU-Hangzhou Technology and Innovation Research Institute. He holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electronic Engineering from Fudan University, China, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas, USA. He began his academic career at PolyU as an Assistant Professor immediately following his doctoral studies. Dr. Xiao has held numerous high-profile leadership and editorial positions within the research community. He is currently an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Information Forensics and Security (TIFS) and IEEE Transactions on Cloud Computing (TCC). His past service includes roles as an IEEE Communications Society (ComSoc) Distinguished Lecturer, Chair of the IEEE ComSoc Communications and Information Security Technical Committee (CISTC Chair), and Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Network Science and Engineering (TNSE), IEEE Internet of Things Journal (IoTJ), and Elsevier's Journal of Parallel and Distributed Computing (JPDC). As a dedicated mentor, many graduates from his research group have successfully secured faculty positions at top-tier universities across both mainland China and Hong Kong.
