My research is about scheduling the AI model training and inference tasks on heterogenous edge devices for acceleration while preserving accuracy, by jointly considering the edge resources and the characteristics of the AI tasks. Scheduling those tasks in edge computing is vastly different from that in the cloud, as edge devices are distributed and heterogeneous, connecting low-bandwidth and intermittent networks. It calls for new systems and algorithms.
