Experiment # 1: Introduction to Digital CRO and IC testing
Lab Report Format:
COVER PAGE: | (-1 point if missing) |
Class number and title, Experiment number and title, Your name, Your lab partner's name, Date of the Experiment
1. Introduction | ( 0.5 points) |
State the objectives of the experiments briefly in few sentences.
2. Background | ( 1 point) |
Give an overview of digital CRO which you have used. You can use the corresponding CRO manual available in the lab. This should be at least half a page long (single spacing, 10pt font).
3. Equipment List | ( 0.5 points) |
List the TTL ICs that you have used for testing. Also mention if you employed any multimeter or CRO.
4. Experimental Procedure | (2 points) |
List the silent features of digital CRO that were not available in analog ones which you used in EL 101/102 labs. Describe the steps involved in testing a typical IC using verification of its logic gates.
5. Analysis | ( 0.5 point) |
List the truth table for gates (ICs) which you tested. you results. Discuss any problems you might have had.
6. Conclusions | ( 0.5 points) |
Discuss your experience with digital CRO. State the results of testing given TTL ICs and whether the objective was met. Give a brief overview of what was done.
NEATNESS, FORMATTING AND GENERAL LAYOUT | (up to -1 point if not followed) |
