Call for Workshop Papers: Big Data Mining for Cyberspace (BDMC) |
Scope:
Big data has been playing a more and more critical and central role in the development of cyberspace and various applications. Big data in cyberspace inspires theoretical theories, novel techniques and scalable algorithms from mathematics, computer science, and many data-driven areas.
In recent years, a large number of scalable and distributed algorithms have been proposed for various cyberspace applications, including social network, social media, smart grid, internet of things, large scale recommendation systems, etc. This workshop, collocated with the 5th IEEE International Conference on Data Science in Cyberspace (IEEE DSC2020), will bring big data researchers together to exchange their ideas, innovations, and novel methods for big data mining and cyberspace applications. Research from various domains, including but not limited to data mining, machine learning, probabilistic models, distributed computing, and cyberspace applications are highly appreciated. Attendees are invited to introduce their latest research results on data mining theories/innovations/algorithms and how these innovations can be applied in real-world cyberspace applications.
Workshop Areas:
Topics of interest include but not limited to:
- Mining algorithms of big data in unstructured/semi-constructed formats
- Scalable, distributed and parallel algorithms
- Statistical analysis and characterization of big data
- Mining of heterogeneous source and format data
- Text mining and analysis
- Big networking data analysis
- Big data analysis frameworks
- Deep learning for big data
- Research challenges on big data
- Big data applications in social media, recommendation system, social network, smart grid, etc.

- Camera-ready copy: July 5, 2020
- Conference: July 27-29, 2020
Submission:
All submissions should be written in English and submitted via our submission system:
https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/BDMC2020.
A paper submitted to BDMC 2020 cannot be under review for any other conference or journal during the entire period that it is considered for BDMC 2020, and must be substantially different from any previously published work. Submissions are reviewed in a single-blind manner. Please note that all submissions must strictly adhere to the IEEE templates as provided below. The templates also act as a guideline regarding formatting. In particular, all submissions must use either the LATEX template or the MS-Word template. Please follow exactly the instructions below to ensure that your submission can ultimately be included in the proceedings.
