IEEE offers PDF eXpress as a free service to IEEE conference authors, allowing them to make Xplore-compatible PDFs (Conversion function) or to check PDFs authors have made themselves for Xplore compatibility (PDF Check function). Steps for submission: 1) Create the camera ready version of your manuscript 2) Proofread and check layout of manuscript. (It is highly recommended that you do this BEFORE going to PDF eXpress.) 3) Create PDF eXpress account, by visiting the following url: http://216.228.1.34/pdfexpress/log.asp And click “First time logging in – click here”. Enter icig04 for the Conference ID, your email address, and choose a new password. Continue to enter information as prompted. You will receive an email confirming the successful creation of your account. 4) Upload source file(s) for Conversion; and/or PDF(s) for Checking 5) Use PDF eXpress to attain Xplore-compatible PDFs. The site contains extensive instructions, resources, and helpful hints. Through your PDF eXpress account, you may submit your source application files for conversion to PDF, and/or submit PDFs for checking. You will have the opportunity to revise your submission if you are not satisfied with the PDF that PDF eXpress creates for you, if you find mistakes in your manuscript, or if your PDF fails the PDF Check. Technical support via email and telephone is available if you experience trouble in creating your PDF. 6) Submit final, Xplore-compatible PDF(s) electronically to the IEEE Computer Society ftp site: ftp://ieeecs@ftp.computer.org/press/incoming/proceedings/icig04/ Please use the specific password sent to each of the corresponding authors by email. If you are uploading your paper using a FTP transfer software, you will need to login into our ftp site at: ftp://ftp.computer.org. Please use the specific login-password information sent to each of the corresponding authors by email. The deadline to submit your final paper is 24 September 2004. PDF eXpress will be available for use on 7 September 2004. PDF eXpress converts the following file types to PDF: Rich Text Format Freelance (La)TeX (DVI and all support files required)* PageMaker FrameMaker QuarkXpress* Word Pro Microsoft Word WordPerfect *For documents created in formats that do not embed source files, include all support files with the final manuscript in a folder. Put this folder in a compressed archive for submission. If it is possible to embed images in the source document, you should do so to avoid potential issues, such as missing graphics.
You are allowed a total of FOUR (4) pages for your paper. This includes all figures, tables, and references. The extra page charges must be paid at 400 USD per extra page along with the registration fee. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. If you have technical questions regarding the above process please contact the webmaster at icpsupport@redshift.net. Jeniferdawn 'JD' Cantarella Production Editor IEEE Computer Society
