Background
information
The Global Chinese
Conference on Computers in Education (GCCCE) is an annual conference
which was first started in Guangzhou, and then in Hong Kong, Macau,
Singapore, Taiwan, Beijing and Nanjing. Over these years, it has
become a major event for scholars and researchers around the globe
who are interested in IT education in the Chinese communities.
GCCCE 2004 will
once again be held in Hong Kong between 31 May 2004 and 3 June 2004
with Department of Curriculum and Instruction, Faculty of Education,
and The Hong Kong Institute of Educational Research, The Chinese
University of Hong Kong, being the hosting organization.
Aims
and objectives
The conference
serves as an important forum providing a critical opportunity for
the researchers and educators to discuss and share ideas over application
of computer in education. It would enhance the awareness of employing
information and computing technologies in teaching and learning.
In addition, participants of the conference would be able to update
the current development of the information technology and new application
on computer-based education.

GCCCE 2004
encompasses a 4-day programme expecting participants mainly from
the Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and around the
globe.
During the conference,
scholarly exchange will take a variety of forms including keynote
and invited speaker addresses, paper presentations, panel discussions
and forums. It would be a valuable opportunity bringing together
scholars and professionals sharing ideas and experience.
