Problem 1:
Design an image acquisition system to capture hand-images for
personal identification. Goals ? Compact, Fast, Low-cost, Can
acquire video and still images.
14:30 - 15:00 Hrs
Problem 2:
Design an image acquisition system to capture hand-vein images for
personal identification.
15:00 - 15:30 Hrs
Problem 3:
Design a digital camera-based product to automatically take
attendance in the classroom
15:30 - 16:00 Hrs
Problem 4:
Design a product that can automatically inspect the products for
defects/problems on the production lines. The product can be any
machine parts or medicines.
Individual viva will start from 16:00 Hrs in
the above order with alphabetical order of last name within each
group.
Guidelines:
Your final presentation should NOT exceed 30
minutes and include the following:
(a)
Demonstration of prototype and details of your implementation (30
Marks)
(b)
Components of Innovation and Creativity (10 Marks)
(c)
Design of the website for product marketing (10 Marks)
(d) A
MPEG file on your design/product details (10 Marks)
Your presentation should be
equally/suitably divided/shared among team members. The
evaluation (10 Marks) will be primarily on:
- 1. The look of your
presentation
- 2. The clarity of the
presentation
- 3. The style of your
presentation
- 4. The content of the
presentation
- 5. The timing of the
presentation
In addition you must also submit (i) the patent
application or a short report on your design solution which should
include entire source code of program(s) which you have implemented.
This submission should be mail via ONE email
(ajaykr@ieee.org) not later
than 24/04/2006 (23:59 Hrs).
