Open PhD Positions with Full Scholarship

Applications are now invited for PhD positions with full scholarship in the Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, starting as early from June 2023. Two PhD positions are currently available in the area of AI for the computer vision related problems. The applicants should have Master's degree in Computer Science or related areas (or completing master's degree by July 2023) and excellent academic record. The applicants are also expected to have strong background in Pattern Recognition and/or Image Processing. Applicants with only Bachelor's degree in the related discipline but with very high academic record of excellence will also be considered and can apply. The applicants should have excellent programming skills and candidates with experience in computer vision, Pattern Recognition or biometrics related work may expect preference. The successful candidate's are expected to work with Prof. Ajay Kumar at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The scholarships offered are highly attractive and competitive (about 18,000 HK$ per month).

Applicants from top ranked universities, will excellent academic record, will be automatically considered for The Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme. The scheme is offers a monthly stipend of HK$30,000 per month (~4000 US$ pm) and Conference and Research related travel allowance of HK$15,000 per year for the successful awardees. The duration of Hong Kong PhD fellowship award is a maximum of three years and maximum of four years when candidates selected have only bachelors degree .

Research Assistant in Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition: Immediate Opening

Applications are invited for the Research Assistant Position(s) which are available for 6 to 12 months duration (further extendable beyond 12 months) in the Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The applicants should have Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Electronics Engineering and with relevant research experience in the Image Processing and/or Pattern Recognition. The applicants should have outstanding academic record and programming skills.  Candidates with some experience in computer vision, biometrics or relevant Master's Degree can expect some preference.
