In the current information and knowledge based society, the continuous improvement in computing power has made practical applications of intelligent computing possible, while the increasing challenges of our new economy have made applications of intelligent computing necessary. In recent years, we have seen growing interest in this field in both academic and industrial sectors. Intelligent and knowledge-based technologies have been applied to the internet, to control systems, to knowledge management, to computer-human interfaces, etc. They have gradually pervaded many of our IS/IT applications and have often become an indispensable competing edge in many products and systems.

It is our vision that intelligent and knowledge-based technologies will be the driving force behind the next generation of computer applications as knowledge will be the driving force behind the next generation of social and economic development. Our mission is to contribute to the research of intelligent and knowledge based technologies and their application to the enhancement of people’s life and livelihood.
