Active Contours with Selective Local or Global Segmentation: A New Formulation and Level Set Method

Our paper mainly has two contributions:
Proposed an SPF(signed pressure force)function which can effectively stop the curve evolution.
Proposed a new level set function re-initialization method (Selective Binary and Gaussian Filtering Regularized Level Set (SBGFRLS)) which is robust and simple to implement.

Note: We eliminate the re-binarization procedure in the following algorithms. This regularization method is the same as that proposed by our paper ¡°Active Contours Driven by Local Image Fitting Energy¡±.
Our level set regularization method can be used to regularize the general level set formulation as follows:
