Course Description :
To many people, search engines are indispensable tools
for finding information on the Internet. Search engines
are big businesses too. They are the key element in
building large portals. Because of the wide impact of
search engines, it is important for web users to understand
the underlying technologies, especially for companies
who want to introduce search features on their intranets
or build portal businesses around search engines.
Objective :
1. Present the key technologies behind web-based search
engines, including problems and features that are unique
in a web environment.
2. Provide attendees with the knowledge and skills
behind the design of Chinese search engines.
Who should Attend ?
This course is designed for I.T. managers, Internet
information providers, librarians and software managers;
especially those who have plans to enter the Chinese
(or broadly speaking Asian) internet market.
Special Features :
There will be two hand-on sessions on the building
of Seach Engine using publicly avaliable packages and
